PeerSpirit, Inc. is serious about caring for the earth. When you live on an island, as we do, it's easy to understand that everything you have either grows here or travels here and that everything you throw away either stays here or is transported somewhere else. The earth is a large island. Our resources of clean air, water, and soil are limited.
One suggestion we would like to offer those who fly or drive to our seminars is to learn more about TerraPass and earn a reduction on the cost of your seminar.
- Visit the TerraPass website, http://www.terrapass.com. This started in October 2004 as a project of Dr. Karl Ulrich, University of Pennsylvania, and 41 of his students determined to reduce the climate impact of their driving and flying. This website contains a fountain of information on reducing/offsetting the impact each of us has on global warming.
- If you are flying to one of the PeerSpirit seminars on Whidbey Island, go to the TerraPass website and purchase a Flight TerraPass. It's easy! Type in the cities you are flying to and from and the web calculates the amount of carbon dioxide you are producing and gives you an opportunity to balance this by buying a Flight TerraPass. A cross-country USA flight is $12.38. An international flight from Europe to the west coast is $37.13. Your money supports clean energy and other projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. PeerSpirit will take $25 off the price of your seminar if you send us a copy of your Flight TerraPass. ($50 if you fly internationally)
- TerraPass money funds clean energy produced by wind power, farm power which makes good use of animal wastes, and landfill gas capture which reduces the impact of our own wastes. All projects are verified by an independent accredited organization which includes site visits and audits and a full listing of all TerraPass purchases is on their website.
